Folks desperate for cash have taken to selling off body parts -- hair, breast milk, and eggs -- in search of easy money in tough times. But selling your kidney -- some say a healthy one would fetch $15,200 -- is illegal everywhere except Iran. Selling a kidney will get you arrested in the United States, Kenya, Costa Rica, Serbia, China (where a 9-year-old famously sold his to trade for an iPad and iPhone) and the rest of the world. Word to the wise: don't sell both your kidneys on the internet, as advised by the amazing video Dumb Ways to Die, created by ad agency McCann Melbourne for Australian Metro.
Gotta explain how your kidneys work -- or don't -- wherever you go? We got you. This adorable kidney tote bag shows you exactly how blood gets filtered and turned into pee. Take it with you on your next dialysis clinic visit and get ready to school people. Can also be printed as a poster to spice up the walls at your nephrologist's office. Ureters in the air for your awesome kidneys, everybody!
