Two for One Surgery Special

"The appendix removal surgery was a success! I was lucky to be close to a terrific ER when the pain started. They also fixed my paraumbilical hernia too while I was under which is great because it was probably going to need attention in the future.

I am overwhelmed by all the comments and messages that resulted from my FB post yesterday. It wasn’t my reason for posting, but it felt good to feel loved and supported by so many people.

I can’t lift weights for 4-6 weeks or cold plunge for a month. Other than that, I am feeling great and am excited to see the silver linings that come from this. I know God will have a plan for me that might not have emerged otherwise without this happening.

Yesterday was also another reminder of how I am married to the most incredible woman and am the father to the most amazing boys. Seeing their bull in pain can’t be easy but I let them take care of me. I love you all so much!

Fun fact: It has been seven years TO THE DAY since my oldest had emergency surgery to remove his appendix. They brought me the stuffie we gave him when they snuck in a for a quick post-op visit last night!
