On our first World Ostomy Day together, I am so excited to celebrate the medical marvel that gave me my life back

At this time last year I was mentally preparing for a massive surgery in just a couple weeks time, and watching people around the world celebrate something that seemed so daunting to me, helped me realize I was going to be ok. Now, a year later, I am so excited to be in the position to tell you that YOU will be ok!

Happy world Ostomy day to everyone celebrating, preparing, living, having setbacks, reversing. Those with big scars, little scars, “no more Ostomy bag” scars. To those eating what they want and doing what they want. To those nervous to show off their bag and excited to show off the bag.

Wherever you are at in this journey, I celebrate you!!
