I find it funny to come across this as I sit on my couch recovering from my 2nd colon surgery. On January 18th I had my large intestine removed. I now have my small intestine connected to my rectum. I had this surgery due to colonic inertia, slow transit constipation and a long (10ft) tortuous, redundent colon. I formed a ileus at my anastomosis site that landed me back in the hospital a few days after I was released. I ended up in the hospital 3 weeks instead of 1 week. After being home about 20+ days the pains started to return and I was rushed back to the hospital to find out the anastomosis site was closing up and a 2nd surgery was needed to fix it. I post this story to let others know they are not alone. You can read my full story and updates of my surgery at www.gofundme.com/nicole. You do not have to donate to read it :) Thank you I Heart Guts for bringing awareness to others about the special month. For those dealing with motility disorders i highly recommend this site http://www.inspire.com/groups/agmd-gi-motility/ .
