We are pleased to introduce our latest celebration of menstrual cycles --
The Periodic Table of Your Period. An illustrated guide to all things menses, we have included everything from bloating to chocolate, corpus luteum to period underwear.

My geochemist husband came up with the idea and of course I am always dying to draw happy tampons, fallopian tubes and mucous, so I finally got my chance! If you look closely, you'll find smiling condoms, IUDs and diaphragms in the Birth Control Series, alongside chemical diagrams of progesterone, folic acid and other important substances that course through your veins monthly.

The first column is devoted to some of our favorite menstrual slang, a few highlights include "Shark Week," "Up On Blocks" and of course "Riding the Cotton Pony." This poster is vaguely NSFW, depending on where you work. There are cute little vaginas, horny uteruses and cock-blocked penises (how else can one illustrate abstinence?), so... maybe not the right thing to share with your kids.

This is amazing and I want to order it as soon as you go to print!
This is excellent! And I don’t feel it’s too NSFW. However, I would add that you missed my favorite period euphemism. My grandma said that during the depression, they used to say “I fell off the roof”—which I think is hilarious. I also heard Bette Davis refer to it as this in her autobiography. So, just another euphemism to add to that part of the elements. :-)
Please make these in poster form!!!!! Amazing!
I totally want one of these for my daughter’s first moon party.
If you’re looking for feedback, I guess I would add the following:
Red Raspberry Leaf tea for supplements (uterine tonic)
Tired (for moods or PMS series)
How could you forget blood clots (under menses)? And I love the period underwear (we all have them) but maybe accidents could get it’s own box too? You can’t have a period without the dreaded accident.
Excellent job!
I love this!
My period and I go way back, so it’s nice to be able to laugh despite the bloating, cramps, and ruined knickers. I used to lead sexual/reproductive health workshops on my campus when I was in college. This would have been a must-have!! I can’t wait for the posters to go to print. Make some mugs, too, please!! <3
