Held during New York Fashion Week, the
Heart Truth catwalk show features celebs and models in red dresses by prominent designers to raise awareness of the prevalence of heart disease in women, a campaign launched by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. New York's fashion week wrapped up yesterday just as London's fashion week is gearing up, and the show will go on without one of the biggest body-parts boosters in fashion -- British designer Alexander McQueen, who apparently committed suicide last week. McQueen's anatomically-inspired accessories -- like his
mirrored ribcage suitcase for Samsonite and
tendon-and-vein-inspired athletic shoe for Puma, equipped with a silver tooth -- were beautiful and twisted all at the same time. Anatomy geeks worldwide will miss this talented designer.
