Mary Eliza Mahoney

I heart guts black history month
This Black History Month, I Heart Guts will be showcasing notable Black Americans in Health, Medicine, and Science. Today we are excited to profile Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first Black professional nurse in America. We recognize her legacy as a medical pioneer and her dedication to seeking equality in both the nursing profession and education system. We are grateful for all she accomplished and we acknowledge that there is more necessary work needed to create the future she envisioned.
Mary Eliza Mahoney, you inspire us!! ❤️
