Many of you have written in to suggest making some sort of graphic showing where all the guts and glands live in the body, and I’ve finally gotten around to creating one. It’s even got rollovers so you can learn more about, say, your pineal gland, should you have time to squander. For the purposes of simplicity, we’ve made the body a hermaphrodite — she’s got a uterus to go with her prostate and testes! We’ll call her/him Hermie.
Fly the neural skies with this awesome brain balloon, created by the International Brain Foundation to bring attention to our wonderful brains and some of the diseases and disorders that cause problems with it. From the website’s schedule, it looks like this giant brain won’t be floating by you anytime soon, but we still heart it anyway, maybe because our heads are already in the clouds.
We recently realized your champion of sleep, the pineal gland, has a passing similarity to our good old pals from the 1980s — The Snorks! The pineal gland is so named because of its pine-cone-like shape. Why are the Snorks shaped the same way? As Retro Junk puts it, “Take a Smurf, stick a snorkel on his head, put him underwater and force him to replace the word “Smurf” with the word “Snork” when he speaks and you’ve got The Snorks.”

Disney is smart to Qee up ol’ Mickey, I’m sure this kind of designer collab will do well. The brain cake is from Cake Wrecks via the very good blog Man Nurse Diaries, and the embroidered brain scan, which lives on the wonderful Musuem of Scientifically Accurate Fabric Brain Art, is by Marjorie Taylor. Okay, I know, enough about MJ, but did you know he was buried without his brain? No joke.
