Trachea + Larynx – Heavy Breathers
This team brings a breath of fresh air! The lungs draw in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide through the trachea, also known as the windpipe. The larynx, home to your vocal chords, helps with breathing, talking and singing. The larynx sits atop the trachea, where it serves as the gatekeeper to your respiratory system, preventing food from going down into the lungs instead of the stomach. If food gets past the gatekeeper, it’s called choking, which is very bad. Breathe easy! Check out our trachea and larynx-related stuff here. SHOP THIS ORGAN »
