One of the best things we saw at last weekend’s Bazaar Bizarre — the Miss Fallopia lapel pin. Made by NifNaks, this little lassie is handcrafted from felted wool, and is ridiculously cute, as you can see for yourself.

I’ll admit I have a weakness for Blender magazine — it’s my trashy mag of choice — so when they highly recommended Zach Galifianakis’ new tune “Up In Them Guts” featuring Fiona Apple, I had to take a listen even though I am not a fan of the Apple — and how can I refuse a song with Guts in it? Even though the lyrics are kind of funny, I give it a big ol’ “ehhhh, who cares?” Maybe I need to give it another chance. If you’ve never heard the phrase “up in them guts,” well…just look it up on Urban Dictionary.
I Don't Wanna Be a Playa No More

Did you know there’s a sport called Guts Frisbee? It’s kinda like dodgeball, but with a frisbee (ouch!). Anyway, learn more about it if you like, I will sit here and resist purchasing this awesome orange frisbee.

Uniquely Busty

Next up, we’ll be at the Bust Craftacular in Los Angeles this coming Saturday, so please do stop by! Yet another chance to get amazing handmade and/or weird stuff for the holidays and avoid the mall. Weekend after that (Dec. 13-14), the guts will be at Unique Los Angeles, a two-day show with a ton of local vendors (voted a shopping “best bet” by the Los Angeles Times), should be a very good showing and is great for those last-minute shoppers out there. There’ll be an open bar at Bust from 4-5pm, and Unique is getting sponsorship from Pabst Blue Ribbon, so hang onto your livers! Come visit and keep me company and I’ll give you a free Liver Not a Fighter sticker — does that sound like bribery to you? It is.
We <3 Our Customers!

We like to think our customers are the coolest customers in the world. Just got back from San Francisco’s Bazaar Bizarre, a fantastic show with tons of great goodies. We had the good fortune to be close to the good people of Nifnaks and Social Studies, great neighbors who make amazing stuff, be sure to check it all out, and we met some amazing people: a woman wearing a “Made of Recycled Parts” tee who’d just had a heart and lung transplant; a UCSF doc who used our gallbladder painting in a power point presentation; a woman who bought a plush uterus for her friend who celebrates the anniversary of her hysterectomy every year; a woman who wore her Gimme Some Sugar pancreas tee to her endocrinologist, who told her the pancreas on our shirt is backwards (oops, gotta fix that! or maybe his face is on the other side?) Anyway, we’d like to thank each and every person who came and checked out our booth, and we’re super grateful to those fun folks who took guts home for the holidays!
